Which either accumulates in natural freshwater ecosystems such as ponds or leachates into the groundwater or burns in the open, releasing harmful chemicals into the air and water, hence further contributing to the water and air quality degradation of Raigarh city.

Raigarh city is moving from good to green.

Over the past three years, the I and My Waste program has fostered social inclusion and collective problem-solving for effective plastic waste management. Around 200 students of age group 13-21 through hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and community-driven initiatives, residents were supported to apply effective strategies for reducing plastic waste on their campus or in a city. This collective effort not only enhanced the plastic waste knowledge of the students but also strengthened community bonds, as individuals came together to share knowledge and resources. As a result, Raigarh City is witnessing a significant shift towards responsible plastic waste management, demonstrating the power of collaboration in tackling environmental challenges. Our program serves as a testament to how engaged citizens can drive meaningful change in their communities.
